LOGLINE
A woman learns her estranged father has died and returns with her brother and new lover to her childhood home of Belize, where she must face her past while fighting for intimacy in the present.
LAURA E. DAVIS, writer/director
Laura Davis is a writer/director and currently a Michener Fellow in screenwriting at UT-Austin. She also works as a consultant on Quadrangle, a pilot in development at HBO. She wrote and directed the award-winning feature Thin Air, which played at festivals domestically and internationally. Other projects include Coup de Grâce, a short film starring Sarita Choudhury (Homeland), and a documentary on HIV/AIDS activism in Paris. In 2012, she directed the music video Light My Way for the beloved L.A. band Lavender Diamond.
JESSICA KAYE, writer/director/actor (Mara)
Jessica Kaye is a Los Angeles based writer/director and actor. As an actress she has appeared on stage, tv and film. Favorite roles include Nina, The Seagull; Miss Julie, Miss Julie; Portia, Merchant of Venice, Charlotte Corday, Marat/Sade; and Maud/Victoria, Cloud Nine. She has directed several short films including Shortage, executive produced by James Franco, the award winning documentary, Fabian Debora, A Life for Art, and 'Til Death, a short film for Google Glass. Jessica is a recent graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts where she was awarded the Samuel and Lorenza Gary Memorial Award and the Harold C Lloyd Scholarship.
MARK WEBBER, actor (Ben)
Mark Webber has appeared in over 40 films as an actor, working with such notable directors as Woody Allen, Todd Solondz, Jim Jarmusch, Thomas Vinterberg, Lars Von Trier and Edgar Wright. His first film as a director, Explicit Ills, won the audience award and best cinematography award at the 2008 SXSW Film Festival. He followed with his second feature, The End Of Love, which was nominated for the grand jury prize at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. His latest film, The Ever After, a brutal love story he stars in with his wife Teresa Palmer, is being released worldwide on February 14, 2015.
DANIEL AHEARN, actor (Aaron)
Daniel Ahearn is a Los Angeles-based musician/actor. His music has been in countless television shows and films, including No Strings Attached and Pretty Little Liars. He composed the score for the documentary feature Hot Girls Wanted (2014) and partnered with Moby for narrative feature The Ever After (2014). As an actor, he co-starred with Rosanna Arquette in the short No Love Song, which premiered at Sun Valley Film Festival in 2013. The Inheritance is his first feature.
BEATRICE VON SCHWERIN, producer
Beatrice graduated from AFI in December 2015. In 2016, she co-produced the UNTITLED JENEE LaMARQUE COMEDY, starring Constance Wu. Previously, she worked in the Scandinavian film and television industry for more than a decade. Starting out in the art department, she moved into production in 2008, working as an assistant producer at one of the top Danish production companies, Miso Film, where she worked on many productions, ranging from the epic war drama 1864 to the Scandinavian crime series VEUM, DICTE, THOSE WHO KILL and Sally Potter's drama GINER & ROSA. Beatrice's AFI thesis, ALL THESE VOICES, won a 2016 Student Academy Award. Her short PEACEFORCE won the Canal+ Prize at the 2011 Clermont Ferrand Film Festival, and it was nominated for the Robert, the Danish equivalent of the Academy Awards. for best short in 2011.
STEVEN J. BERGER, executive producer
Steven, a graduate of the American Film Institute, is the founder of Provenance Pictures, a Los Angeles based development and production company. He began working in the industry in post-production, and has worked on over two dozen films and television shows over 10 years, including SPIDERMAN 2, THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, and THE INCREDIBLES. Steven most recently produced ECHOES OF WAR, starring James Badge Dale (IRON MAN 3, WORLD WAR Z, FLIGHT), and Maika Monroe (IT FOLLOWS), which was released in theaters and VOD in May 2015. Steven also produced THE PRETTY ONE, a Black List script starring Zoe Kazan, Jake Johnson, and Ron Livingston, (purchased by Sony Pictures at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival) and “SPOONFUL”, an official selection of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Steven’s first feature film VINYL, a UK production directed by Sara Sugarman, starring Phil Daniels, Perry Benson, and Keith Allen, was released theatrically throughout Europe, and is currently in talks for an American remake. Previously, Steven worked as the In-House Producer and Director at Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts in Chicago, part of Robert De Niro’s Tribeca Enterprises.

THIS IS JUST A TEST creates film + tv + digital content. In film, our indie thriller Dead Within, released by Millennium Entertainment, was in the top 20 most watched on Netflix for September 2014. Our documentary American Harmony won best documentary award at the San Diego film festival and a nomination for an International Documentary Association award. TIJAT also creates and produces campaigns and commercials for brands, non-profits, and causes. Our work has received awards and honors, including special recognition from the White House and the United Nations for issues of awareness. In television, TIJAT is currently producing projects for Animal Planet, CNN, Destination America, Discovery, History, Lifetime, Nat Geo, Investigation Discovery and The Weinstein Company.
Aengus oversees creative. He is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and has created, directed, and produced campaigns, television, and film. Colin runs operations and oversees production. Prior to TIJAT, Colin worked for The Walt Disney Company and for Citigroup’s investment banking division in New York City.
